Ice Skating Rink
The city maintains a public ice skating rink at Whistle Stop Park (103 4th Street NE) during the winter months, which is usually from mid to late December through February, depending on weather conditions.
The rink is operated on a first come, first served basis and is free to the public. Skating is permitted during park hours.
The city also staffs and operates a warming house adjacent to the skating rink for public use. The warming house is scheduled to be open during the following hours, except during inclement weather or if the ice is in poor condition:
Monday thru Friday: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
*Closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
**Warming House will be closed if temperature is - 10 degrees or less, stormy weather or wind chill is 25 degrees below zero**
Skating Rink Rules:
- Absolutely NO hockey playing on main ice rink
- No one is allowed on the ice rink without skates
- No Loitering
- Fighting, rough play, pushing or swearing is not allowed
- No sleds, bikes, etc. are allowed on the ice rink
- Crack the whip and Pump-Pump is FORBIDDEN
- No throwing of snow or snowballs etc. on or near the ice rinks
- Skaters must leave the ice rink during maintenance
- Any damage or breakage will be charged to the person or persons responsible or their parents
- Report all accidents to the attendant
- You are skating at your own risk, the City of Dilworth is not liable for accidents or injury
- The City is NOT responsible for any items left at the rink
Discipline Policy:
1st Violation – Warning
2nd Violation – Removed from skating and hockey rinks for the DAY
3rd Violation – Removed from skating and hockey rinks for the WEEK
4th Violation – Removed from skating and hockey rinks for the SEASON
Violations of a serious nature will result in immediate removal of the person from the skating or hockey rink.
THE RINK SUPERVISOR HAS COMPLETE AUTHORITY AT THIS RINK!
