Lopez and Driscoll drained seven 3-pointers in the night with five of those coming in the first half.

“We were making that extra pass, and that was the key,” Molstre said. “We were getting good looks, and we were hitting them.”

The extra pass allowed the entire team to get involved as the team as a whole hit 19 field goals and had 16 assists. Lopez finished with a team-high 18 points while hitting four 3-pointers and passing out six assists, while Driscoll added 15 points with three of those coming from behind the arc. Jenna Green added 14 points, getting four points in the final 26 seconds to seal the win.

The Rebels controlled the game after just 2 minutes of play, by taking a 6-4 lead and extended that lead to nine points at one point early in the second half.

LP-A tried hard to mount a comeback in the last few minutes of the game, but none of the Raiders shots would find their way into the basket.

“We just couldn’t get over the hump,” LP-A coach Andy Schwan said. “It seems like when we play teams we’re supposed to beat, those shots fall. When we play the upper echelon teams in this conference, they don’t.”

DILWORTH-GLYNDON-FELTON: Driscoll 6 0-1 15, Lopez 7 0-1 18, Green 5 4-6 14, Liljestrand 1 0-3 2, Brantner 1 1-2 3, Anderson 0 1-2 1, Mathison 2 0-0 5. Totals 19 6-15 58.
LAKE PARK-AUDUBON: Knudsvig 1 2-2 4, Tingelstad 8 2-5 21, Jenson 1 0-0 2, Askelson 8 5-6 22, Krejce 1 0-0 3, Hall 0 0-1 0, McIntire 0 2-2 2. Totals 18 11-16 54.
Half: DGF 34, LPA 30.
3-point goals: Lopez 4, Driscoll 3, Mathison, Tingelstad 3, Askelson, Krejce.

Rebounds: DGF 36 (Green 12). LPA 27 (Askelson 11). Assists: DGF 16 (Lopez 6). LPA 6 (Tingelstad 2). Steals: DGF 6 (6 tied with 1). LPA 14 (Tingelstad 7). Turnovers: DGF 20. LPA 14.

Glyndon, MN- Facing the pressing defense of the Vikings, the DGF boys basketball team decided to use their ball handling skills to dribble around the opponents. The decision paid off as the Rebels went on to defeat the Vikings 67-46.

“We have a couple of guys that can really handle the ball,” Rebels first year coach Jason Sunde said, “and what an asset that is in a situation when you have the lead in a game.”

The Rebels did all that dribbling and only gave up four second-half turnovers. The Vikings ran a full court press, trying to trap players and force turnovers with only a few minutes left on the clock.

“If we can get a lead at the end of the game like that, we’re very difficult to guard, we’re difficult to trap,” Sunde said.

“It was a good defensive performance by us right there,” Sunde said.

The Rebels played some fierce defense, allowing Pelican Rapids no field goals for over eight minutes in the second half.

“We did a heck of a job of containing those guys and then holding every one else down to what we thought they could do against us,” he said. “That was just a team defensive effort. That was impressive by our guys to be able to do that.”

The Rebels started out the game well, hitting several outside shot including several 3-pointers. This forced the Vikings to change their game plan of running a zone defense.

“We were kind of just hoping we could knock down a couple outside shots to get them out of (the zone), and we did that,” Sunde said.

Four of the first five baskets were three pointers. Johnathon Molina had two of the first five baskets and led all scores with 23.

“That was kind of our goal, to shoot the ball well, get them out of their zone,” Sunde said.

PELICAN RAPIDS: Krueger 2 0-0 4, Haugen 4 6-8 14, Storrusten 4 1-2 9, Shulstad 3 4-4 10, Satterlie 1 0-2 2, Huseby 1 0-0 2, Sorum 1 0-0 2, Skow-Anderson 2 0-0 4. Totals 18 11-16 46.

D-G-F: Molina 7 7-8 23, Bergee 5 3-4 15, Johnk 2 2-4 6, Bolin 1 0-0 2, Clark 1 0-0 3, Mathison 3 0-0 7, Johnson 3 2-2 8, Roelofs 1 1-2 3. Totals 23 15-20 67.

Half: Pelican Rapids 27, D-G-F 33.

3-point goals: Molina 2, Bergee 2, Clark, Mathison.
