DGF Basketball splits over the weekend

The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton girls basketball team rolled over Barnesville 51-28 in Minnesota girls basketball Friday in Barnesville.
Yliniemi led the lady Rebel’s with a game-high 13 points. Paige Stalboerger added another eight points.

Pequot Lakes eked out a victory over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton 73-72 in Minnesota boys basketball on Friday in Dilworth.
Jonas Dale accounted for 18 points for Pequot Lakes (16-5).
Taylor Johnson was high scorer for D-G-F (13-8) with 15 points while Cody Bergee provided 14 points.

Rebels’ over WCA

The DGF Rebels’ defensive unit held West Central Area to 10 yards of total offense Minnesota Class 2A football action Friday night. The Rebels were able to score twice in the game that saw eight combined turnovers. Field conditions were less then favorable for either team as both struggled to get any offense going.
Cody Branter started the Rebels’ offense in the second half with an 80 yard kickoff return to put the Rebels’ up by a touchdown.
Zack Askelson added a three yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to put the Rebels’ up 14-0. Askelson ran for 117 yards on 24 carries for the Rebels’.

Rebels football over Park Rapids

The DGF Rebels rushing attack was too much for Park Rapids tonight as the Rebels marched on to a 41-7 victory Friday night. The Rebels Tayler Yliniemi and Zack Askelson ran for 147 yards and 128 yards respectively in the win.
The Rebels came out rolling as they went 78 yards in 16 plays on the first drive of the game. Chewing up 7:43 of the quarter, the Rebels Yliniemi accounted for 68 yards of the drive that lead to the first touchdown.
The DGF Defense was outstanding keeping Park Rapids to only 21 yards of offense in the first quarter and only one passing touchdown. The defense only gave up 128 yards total on the night. Yliniemi led the squad with eight tackles on the night.
Askelson scored two touchdown runs from 10 and 33 yards out. The Rebels move to 3-2 while Park Rapids falls to 3-2.
Rebels win on the diamonds

The DGF baseball team was able to defeat Ada-Borup Tuesday, despite seven defensive errors. Pitcher Paul Ness allowed just three hits and five strike outs to collect his third win of the season. Brandon Mortenson had two RBI’s and scored another in the win over Ada-Borup. Mortenson went 2 for 4 and had a stolen base as well.

DGF Girls Softball splits double header
May 18, 2008
The DGF girls softball team split the double header in Warroad on Saturday. The Rebels lost the first game 17-5 to Warroad. Becky Swenson hit her fourth home run of the year in that game, but the Rebels still fell short of runs.
The Rebels won the second game with an 8-7 victory over Roseau. Against Roseau, the Rebels had three players each with two hits. The Rebels improved their record to 11-5.
DGF sweeps LPA on the diamond

DGF was led by Riley Nelson who went 4-for-6 with three doubles in a double header against Lake Park-Audubon.
The Rebels won the first game 15-5 with Nelson hitting in three RBI’s.
DGF shut out the Raiders 5-0 the second game with the help of pitcher Luke Gable six strike outs of Raider hitters. Gable only gave up two hits in the victory.
Rebels Lose Close Game to Pirates

The DGF Rebels fought a tough wind as well as a tough Crookston Pirates baseball team Monday. The Rebels lost 7-6 at Jim Karn Field in Crookston starting the season off with a loss.
The Pirates took an early lead with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Dilworth post big win over Ulen-Hitterdal

Glyndon, MN- The DGF girls basketball team came easily defeated Ulen-Hitterdal in Minnesota girls high school basketball Thursday. The Rebels were led in scoring by Jenna Green who a game-high 32 points and 5 boards. Mathison contributed 9 points and had a game high of five assists and six steals.
Dilworth loses in OT

Glyndon, MN- It is not often that a DGF girls basketball team can score 75 points and not win a game. The team came up one three pointer short, losing to Crookston 78-75 in overtime on Monday night though. Croookstons had the hot hand of Sydney Epema who drained seven 3-point goals as Crookston beat Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in Glyndon.
Jenny Lopez recorded 25 points and recorded nine assists while Driscoll and Mathison combined for another 25 points. Jenna Green chipped in 6 rebounds.
Rebels reel in win

Lake Park, MN-DGF Rebels girl basketball guards Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Driscoll lit up the Lake Park gym with 3-pointers to secure a 58-54 win over Lake Park-Audubon on Friday. Lopez and Driscoll drained seven 3-pointers in the night with five of those coming in the first half.
“We were making that extra pass, and that was the key,” Molstre said. “We were getting good looks, and we were hitting them.”
The extra pass allowed the entire team to get involved as the team as a whole hit 19 field goals and had 16 assists. Lopez finished with a team-high 18 points while hitting four 3-pointers and passing out six assists, while Driscoll added 15 points with three of those coming from behind the arc. Jenna Green added 14 points, getting four points in the final 26 seconds to seal the win.
