Benefit scheduled for Melissa Gedde

A benefit is scheduled for Melissa Gedde and her family for April 11 at the Dilworth Community Center. The benefit will include a spaghetti feed, silent auction and bake sale between 4 and 7 pm.

A free will donation will be accepted at the door. The benefit will help the family defray some medical costs resulting from an undiagnosed medical condition.

The fund raising effort will be supported by Dakota Medical Foundation “Lend A Hand” who will match up to $5,000 of what the benefit raises.

Register at Mills Lounge by July 19. Limited to 18 teams/60 participants. 18 holes, 1:00 PM shot gun start, $40.00 per person. Awards banquet 7:30 PM at Mills Lounge. Must be 21 to participate.

This event runs through July 31st. Questions will be posted daily at City Hall for two age groups (12 and under, 13-16). Answers must be turned into City Hall by 4:00 PM Friday, July 31, and include name, address, phone number and age. Participants who answer all of the questions correctly will be eligible to win a $50 gift card. Contest winners will be drawn and announced during the Italian Dinner entertainment show Saturday evening.

The Dilworth Fire Department will be holding a fund raiser September 11th that will be for women only. The fire department will hold the event for the second year with doors opening at 6:00 PM.

Tickets can be purchased from Dilworth Fire Department members.

The Dilworth Fire Department is also soliciting donations of cash, gift certificates, gift cards and or prizes for all of their fund raising events. If your business is interested in donating cash and or prizes to the Fire Department we would greatly appreciate your input. All donations to the Fire Department would be recognized as donated from your establishment at the event as well as a link to your business on their website. Fargo Firefighters Leading Fargo’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade

According to a city of Fargo news release, the Fargo Fire Department will be leading the St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the first time this weekend.

The firefighters have asked more then 50 local and regional departments to participate with them in this Saturday’s parade. Off-duty firefighters will march in full uniforms at the head of the parade, just behind a color guard. The department hopes other departments such as Moorhead, Dilworth, West Fargo and other departments will join in the festivities. The Fargo department will be escorted by two department trucks and any equipment other departments bring.

The parade will begin at 1:00 Pm on Saturday, March 15th on Broadway in Fargo.
