Former DGF teacher named 2008 Teacher of the Year

Former DGF teacher Carleen Gulstad has been named the 2008 Teacher of the Year by the state’s teachers union, Education Minnesota.
Gulstad graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead and began teaching in Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton school district in 1994. She has been teaching at Hopkins North Junior High since 1999.
Gulstad draws inspiration from her students as well as her older brother Cedric. She credits her successful teaching career to her brother who took his own life more then 20 years ago.
Gulstad is a native of Virginia, Minnesota and now currently lives in Maple Grove with her husband Dean and their 6 year old son, Matthew.
